Why has my dentist referred me to an oral surgeon?

Oral surgeons, also known as oral and maxillofacial surgeons, are dental specialists who have not only completed four years of dental school, but have also completed at least four years of a surgical hospital residency. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are specially trained in all surgical & diagnostic aspects of the mouth, jaw, teeth, neck, gums and other soft tissues of the head.

Why must I schedule a consultation prior to surgery?

At your initial consultation, our doctors will perform a comprehensive evaluation of your individual needs and will review any medical conditions, current medications or concerns you may have prior to your surgical procedure.

Must I be referred by a dentist to schedule an appointment?

No, we welcome all new patients.

Where is surgery performed?

The majority of surgeries are performed in our state of the art office. Complex surgery such as Orthognathic surgery is performed at Round Rock Medical Center or Cedar Park Regional Medical Center.
